The Laboratory of Genetics investigates causes and consequences of natural genetic variation within species. Because genetic variation plays an essential role in ecological and evolutionary processes, we ask ecologically and evolutionary motivated research questions. Our investigations are carried out in two research groups, Evolutionary genetics and Botanical genetics (including Cytogenetics), and make use of genetic model-organisms for which many genetic and molecular methods are available.
